When visiting a place for the first time, putting together the perfect itinerary can be tough. Well, don’t you worry, because we’ve neatly put together a few sample itineraries for different times of the year. Consider these loose travel plans that you can adjust according to your preferences. The good news is that the main towns and activities are easily accessible in the San Bernardino Mountains. So, you won’t miss out on anything!
Arrive at your cabin in the afternoon, unload your bags, and get yourself settled. If you haven’t stocked up on food, head into town to hit a grocery store so that you can whip up a tasty meal. Make a meal from our favorite vacation meals. No need to squeeze in any big plans today. Take the time to enjoy your cabin and the surrounding area.
Fire up some coffee and have a nice breakfast before hitting the slopes at Snow Valley Mountain Resort. You’ll have a full day of fun ahead of you, and the resort will have everything you need.
Gather around the fireplace and roast a few s’mores. Since you were outside all day on the slopes, consider having a family game night or pop a little popcorn and snuggle up for a movie night.
Time to pack up the car and check out from your Get Lost Inn–we’re sad to see you go! Make a to-go lunch to take with you on your next activity.
On your way out of town, find a spot to have lunch and go sledding! Head to Snowdirft Tubing Park or go sledding in the hills, but make sure your car is completely on the shoulder. When you’re all tuckered out from sledding, pull out the lunch you made at the cabin and enjoy a picnic outdoors.
The San Bernardino Mountains are chock full of activities to keep you busy for days on end. Take a trip to Sky Park Santa’s Village for some ice skating; you can even meet Santa! Go check out some of the great winter hikes in the area, like the Little Green Valley Trail (bring snowshoes). Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear have fun and festive towns to walk around during the holiday season.
Roll up to your cabin in the afternoon and get settled in. Hop in the car and drive to one of the nearby overlooks to watch a stunning sunset (Rim of the World Scenic Byway has great lookouts). Head back to the cabin for a cozy movie night. Make a meal from our favorite vacation meal list HERE.
Have a relaxing breakfast on the patio before hitting one of the trails by your cabin. You’ll be right next to great fishing spots, so grab your poles and spend the day catching rainbow trout.
Grill up some BBQ and have a chill evening outside. After dinner, throw some wood in the fireplace to roast s’mores. Don’t forget to look up and gaze at the brilliant stars!
Grab all your belongings and load up the car–we wish you could stay forever! Before leaving the cabin, pack up a couple of lunches to take with you to the next adventure.
Queue up your road trip playlist and take a drive through the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains. Keller Park Lookout Tower is a great destination where you can get a full view of the region. If you have mountain bikes, hit the Rim Nordic Mountain Bike Park for epic trail riding!
If you have extra time, hike up to Castle Rock, but make sure to pack water and snacks. Check out some of the nearby lakes where you can rent a small boat and explore the area. At Lake Gregory, there’s a fun-filled waterpark with a giant floating obstacle course and waterslide!
